Dr. Rafael Olea Franco to give the Mexican Studies Lecture at Peking University

The Embassy of Mexico is pleased to announce the presence in Beijing of Dr. Rafael Olea Franco, an expert on Mexican narrative from 19th and 20th centuries, who will give the Mexican Studies Lecture at Peking University.

This lecture is divided in 3 sessions as follows:

Friday 11th November – Juan Rulfo. Between the realism and the magic. 15:00 Hrs.

Wednesday 16th November – Carlos Fuentes. The fantastic modality. 10:00 Hrs.

Friday 18th November – José Emilio Pachecho. The demystifying urban novel. 15:00 Hrs.

These sessions will take place at Room 106, Second School Building of Peking University. Free entrance.

The Mexican Studies Lecture is a program of academic exchange between Peking University, El Colegio de Mexico (COLMEX) and the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is celebrated annually to promote Mexican culture and the better knowledge in China of subjects such as Mexican history, arts, literature, among others. The Mexican Studies Lecture contributes to the strengthening of relations and a greater understanding between China and Mexico.

Rafael Olea Franco is the second specialist who has came to Peking University to give the Mexican Studies Lecture since it began in 2010.
